Truth About AEW Grand Slam Australia Ring

Tony Khan AEW

Grand Slam Australia was a huge success for AEW but as usual, one story has made waves on social media about the show that turns out isn’t true.

Grand Slam Australia was headlined by Toni Storm reclaiming the AEW Women’s World Championship from Mariah May in front of a raucous crowd in Brisbane.

There was heartbreak for other Aussie stars on the show as Buddy Matthews lost to Kazuchika Okada while Harley Cameron failed to win the TBS Title from Mercedes Mone.

Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay proved to be a dream team after all as they defeated Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. The Death Riders proved successful as well as Jon Moxley choked out Adam Copeland in a Brisbane Brawl.

AEW Didn’t Forget Ring

AEW has touted the success of Grand Slam Australia but the company still can’t get away from bad faith rumours that spread online. This time the rumour centred on AEW apparently not shipping their ring to Brisbane but to the surprise of absolutely no fans of the company, turned out to be false.

Fightful Select has reported that AEW did not forget to ship a ring and their plan was always to use a ring that was in the country. That ring was not the usual 20×20 ring used by the company but was also not 16×16 as some had claimed. The ring used is believed to be 18×18 which is the same size of ring used by TNA, ROH, ECW, and WCW over the years.

AEW is said to have also used an 18×18 ring before for the Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa cage match back in 2022 when Rosa defeated Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
