Trish Stratus Announced For Women’s Money In The Bank Qualifying Match On Raw
Trish Stratus will have the opportunity to compete in a Women’s Money in the Bank match for the first time…if she wins on Raw.
The next WWE Premium Live Event is Money in the Bank and it will take place in two weeks on Saturday, July 1st in London, England. It should be a very vocal crowd in England considering they don’t get live WWE PLE events there often. On the show, there will be two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. To win those matches, the superstar must climb a ladder to retrieve a briefcase that has a contract in it, which can lead to a wrestler “cashing in” the contract on any champion any time they want.
Currently, there are five women announced for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Based on graphics shown by WWE, there will likely be six women in the match although we have seen in previous years where the company adds more people to the match.
The first five women to qualify for the Money in the Bank are Becky Lynch, Zoey Stark, Zelina Vega, Bayley and IYO SKY.
Trish Stratus will get a chance to join those women (including her friend Zoey) when she competes against Raquel Rodriguez this coming Monday on the June 19th edition of Raw from Cleveland. Here’s the official announcement from WWE.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus looks to punch her ticket to her first-ever Money in the Bank Ladder Match by taking on Raquel Rodriguez Monday on Raw.
Since betraying Becky Lynch and Lita a couple of months ago, Stratus has been on a mission to gain respect as a legend and will look to cement it by defeating Rodriguez en route to becoming Ms. Money in the Bank, July 1 in London.
Stratus has also aligned with the bruising Zoey Stark who has already qualified for the match, making them one of the most dangerous duos on the red brand.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, is attempting to regain some momentum after having to relinquish the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships due to Liv Morgan’s injury.
Who will be the next Superstar to join the Money in the Bank field? Tune in to Monday Night Raw, live on USA at 8/7 C to find out!
Trish Stratus has never competed in a Money in the Bank match before because the match was introduced for men only in 2005. During Stratus’ initial WWE run from 2000 to 2006, there were no Women’s Money in the Bank matches. It was over a decade later when the women finally got to be in Money in the Bank matches.
Raquel Rodriguez was in the 2022 Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, which was won by Liv Morgan.
