Trish Stratus Teases One More WWE Comeback
Trish Stratus may have stepped away from WWE once again but she’s not ruling out another run as champion before hanging up her boots.
Trish Stratus won the last of her 7 WWE Women’s Championships in the final match of her full-time run in the company back in 2006. Since then, Stratus has returned to the ring on 22 occasions with ten of those matches coming in 2023 when she returned for an extended spell in WWE.
Trish Stratus teamed with Becky Lynch and Lita at WrestleMania 39 before she turned on her partners in the following weeks, setting up a feud with Lynch. That feud ended at Payback when Lynch defeated the WWE Hall of Famer in a lauded cage match but Trish Stratus has expressed that the feud with Becky Lynch dragged as it was previously set to end at SummerSlam.
Trish Stratus Sets Her Sight On WWE Gold
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet Trish Stratus discussed her recent run in WWE and didn’t rule out a return to the ring once again and attempting to win more gold in the company:
When I embarked on the journey, I came back for WrestleMania, ‘Let’s do this little program.’ Suddenly, heel Trish had to come alive. Then, it just kept going and going. I got to do things I didn’t get to do, right? Ladder Match, Saudi Arabia, Cage Match.
To be able to dip my toes into the current landscape and check boxes that I wasn’t able to check back in the day was pretty amazing. Yeah, I mean, I could become an eight-time champ. That sounds good to me. Why not?
With seven WWE Women’s Title reigns to her name, Trish Stratus is only beaten for the most reigns as champion by Charlotte Flair who has held various versions of WWE’s main roster women’s championships 14 times.
