Trish Stratus Shares Heartbreaking Update After Mother’s Passing
Trish Stratus paid tribute to her late mother on social media.
It’s not easy for anybody to lose a parent because they are such an integral part of our lives.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus shares a lot about her personal life with her husband, son Max, and daughter Maddy, but she has also recently opened up about the death of her mother.
Trish Stratus announced in late August that her mother had passed away from cancer.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Trish wrote about how hard life is without her mother around.
I didn’t think anything could be more painful than the day my mom died. But the weeks that have passed and learning how to live without her, have taught me otherwise.
It’s the everyday things that sting. The painful realization that sneaks up in a random moment on a random day. Picking up the phone to text her – even going as far as physically pulling it out and then it hits me – she’s not on the other end anymore. She won’t see the first day of school photos I took… she didn’t get to see Max turn 12… she didn’t look at my nothing special homemade birthday loot bags and say, ‘oh, isn’t that cute’, as only a mother can, to make the most mundane feel the most special.
I’ve come to see, it’s not one big heartbreak, but a thousand little ones scattered through each day.
I was not prepared for how unpredictable this is… how you can feel steady for a moment, then unravel in the next. It’s exhausting, this constant push and pull of holding it together while silently falling apart.
In the meantime I’ve been redirecting my “look what I made for dinner” and my “how cute is this photo’ texts, and others have stepped in to sit in the empty seat at the table at the birthdays and events. But even as life keeps moving forward, I can’t help but feel like I am standing still.
I’m still trying to figure out how to live in a world where she isn’t here.
And the truth is, I don’t know how to yet.

Trish Stratus Will Be Inducted Into Another Wrestling Hall Of Fame
The legendary Trish Stratus was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. In recent years, she has also returned to the WWE ring.
This past year, she has competed in multiple PLE matches, including the women-only Evolution PLE in July when she challenged Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Title. Stratton won the match, but Stratus proved that even at 49 years old, she can still compete at the highest level.
Trish Stratus is celebrating 25 years in pro wrestling, and she’ll be inducted into the International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame on October 12th.
Writing on X/Twitter, Stratus wrote about what this Hall of Fame induction means to her.
I am incredibly honoured and excited that I will be inducted into the International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in one week. To be a part of the Class of 2025 means more to me than I can put into words.
I’ve spent some time out of the spotlight recently, and while that space was needed, I also know how important it is to start stepping back out. This moment – this event – feels like the right one. I know it’s not going to be easy, especially with what I’ve been carrying since losing my mom. But what’s making it feel possible is the constant love from my fans, and the support of my wrestling family. You’ve all have reminded me of who I am, and what this journey has meant – and because of that, I feel strong enough to walk back into the light with you.
