Trish Stratus Called Out By WWE Star For A Match
A current WWE women’s wrestler is interested in facing off against the Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus.
The year 2023 marked a comeback for the legendary WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, who retired as a full-time wrestler in 2006 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
That return saw Trish Stratus team up with Becky Lynch & Lita to win a six-woman tag team match against Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 39. A few weeks later, Stratus turned on Lita and Lynch to prove she was better than Lynch, who many people see as the greatest women’s wrestler of her era.
Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus would go on to have one of the longest rivalries of the year. Stratus beat Lynch at Night of Champions in May thanks to Zoey Stark’s help, but Lynch got her revenge in a terrific Steel Cage Match at the appropriately named Payback PLE event in September.
After the Lynch-Stratus match at Payback, Trish was upset with her friend Stark, but that ended badly for Stratus since Stark dropped her with the Z360 knee to the face. Stratus did not appear on WWE TV again in 2023.
Zoey Stark appeared on the Busted Open Holiday Party, to recap her year in WWE.
“What a whirlwind, right? Started the year off at the Royal Rumble, then getting to work with Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch, having two women’s world title matches at Saudi and then the other one at Survivor Series, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much within this first year, and I’m just getting started, so I’m excited for 2024.”
When asked about what’s next for her in 2024, Zoey Stark brought up her former mentor Stratus.
“I really want to finish my story with Trish Stratus. I really want to do something with her. So that would be a lot of fun to figure out where it goes. That’s exactly what I want to see, so hopefully we can get that to happen.”
Does Trish Stratus Want To Make WWE Return?
Even though Trish Stratus, who recently turned 48 years old, has nothing left to prove in WWE, she recently told GAW TV that she could certainly come back one day.
“2023 was probably the most insane year I’ve had on all fronts. I did not expect…I returned to wrestling, obviously, a little mini-program turned into six months. So much fun.
I have a lot of things that are percolating and we’ll let you know when we can let you know. I’m excited. We’re on a roll here. Good things are happening, new opportunities and stuff that I didn’t even think I could tap into that I am. It’s been fun. I can’t wait.
“Honestly, at the end of the day, the support from my Stratospherians, we are so thankful for everyone. They are what drive us; they’re what make us, and your interests are what make the interests, and therefore, we are a thing.
Thank you to all my Stratospherians for coming out, for supporting, and it was so fun when I went back to wrestling, tapping into ‘if you know you know’ moments and having that ‘Oh, I loved when she did that back in the day.’ That was fun. I look forward to doing that again next year. I’m so excited.”
What Trish means by all of that is up for debate, but what we do know is if the Hall of Famer returns to WWE again, she’ll put in the work and put on a show like only she can.
