Call For Triple H’s Firing Over Failing “Movie Star-Looking” Ex-WWE Star
Former WWE creative writer and booker Vince Russo did not hold back in a recent interview, exposing Triple H’s alleged backstage politics.
Vince Russo has been very critical of the WWE CCO’s booking decisions and overall leadership in recent times. He has openly voiced his frustrations over how Triple H makes certain decisions to push certain WWE talents or holds them back for personal reasons on his own podcast and others’.
The latest star Vince Russo has talked about is former WWE wrestler Karrion “Killer” Kross. Kross was released by WWE in 2021 after the Gladiator gimmick they had for him backfired. He was known to be a ruthless villain character in his time before WWE in the independent circuit, and also during his successful run in WWE’s NXT, where he held the NXT Championship twice. Many wrestlers and critics believed WWE watered down his character unnecessarily.
He did return to WWE, though, in 2022, but this time his persona was reverted to his original NXT one. He led a faction called “The Final Testament” but didn’t get much success during this run.
When his contract ran out, along with his real-life wife and on-screen pairing, Scarlett, WWE refused to renew Scarlett’s contract and gave Kross 24 hours to consider re-signing his contract without her inclusion. This led to Kross’ departure from the Stamford-based promotion.
Vince Russo Claims Triple H Saw Wrestlers As Threats
Speaking in a no-filter interview with Minus 7 Sports, Russo highlighted WWE’s backstage politics and incompetence. He believes that a marketable duo like Kross and Scarlett, with Scarlett having movie-star-like looks, could easily have had their contracts renewed had it not been for Triple H not seeing him as a threat.
When you’ve got a package of Karrion Kross and Scarlett—and let me say this about Scarlett – this is a beautiful woman. I’m not talking hot. This is a movie star-looking woman. This is Sable. When you’ve got this couple that’s like dollar signs all over them, and their contract is not renewed, bro, you know it’s one of two things. Number one, it’s either politics, or number two, the people who are in charge of their careers are incompetent. So they need to go. It’s one of those two things.
Triple H still has the mentality of a wrestler. And bro, when Triple H sees somebody come along that has the potential to be better than he was, he’s going to chop them off at the knees, bro.
