Triple H’s Honest Confession About John Cena & Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania Match

Triple H WWE WrestleMania

Triple H has shared his thoughts about the John Cena-Cody Rhodes match at WrestleMania 41.

WWE: Unreal, the Stamford promotion’s latest docuseries, gives wrestling fans behind-the-scenes access to its production leading up to the 2025 WrestleMania.

The 5-episode TV show extensively covers the events of RAW, SmackDown, and WWE’s grandest premium live event.

At Elimination Chamber, Cena won the rights to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at ‘the Grandest Stage of Them All.’

The March PLE also saw him become a heel for the first time in 20 years, a decision Triple H said only a handful of people were aware of.

Before their WrestleMania match, John Cena looked to become the first man to hold the world championship for a record 17 times, with only Rhodes standing in his way.

The match was well-received for the overall acrobatics and the story surrounding it, as well as Cena’s victory.

Triple H Confesses What He Thought About The Main Event Match

The final episode of WWE: Unreal extensively covers the men’s and women’s main title matches on both RAW and SmackDown.

WrestleMania is expected to deliver with every match, and the bouts preceding John Cena vs. Rhodes had done a fairly good job.

Triple H later shared what he actually thought about the main event match at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It accomplished everything we wanted to accomplish. Was it the match that, you know, the triple threat men…? No, it was never going to be. Was it the match the women had in the triple…? No, it was never going to be. It was what it needed to be to get you to the other side of this story.

Triple H also shared how the 17-time world champion’s heel turn came about.

Meanwhile, John Cena and Cody Rhodes will face each other in another title match at SummerSlam on August 3, with Cena as the defending champion.
