Triple H Admits WWE Put Under The Gun For Wrestlepalooza

Triple H WWE Evolution

Triple H has opened up about how Wrestlepalooza came together and how WWE was put under pressure by ESPN for the event.

WWE recently signed a huge deal with ESPN for its streaming service to become the home of PLEs in the United States. Many expected that deal to kick off in 2026, but instead, it will begin on September 20th with Wrestlepalooza.

WWE’s PLE was set to go head-to-head with AEW All Out before Tony Khan shifted his show to the afternoon on the same day. But if Triple H is to be believed, that’s all just a coincidence as well.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H explained how Wrestlepalooza came together late in the day, with WWE forced to act quickly:

There was a lot of thought, but it was in a brief period of time. We were sort of under the gun. As soon as we heard Indy was on the table and they had a date open, we were in. That was a no-brainer for us.

We moved quickly on this whole thing. The whole thing came together very quickly. ESPN asked for the date, they wanted a mega-event, we said yes. We just had to pick a name and go.

Triple H Brings Back Brock Lesnar & AJ Lee For Wrestlepalooza

Brock Lesnar made his shock return to WWE at SummerSlam, but he’s been made to wait for his first match in two years. Lesnar will clash with John Cena at Wrestlepalooza, marking the first time those two men have faced off since the 2015 Royal Rumble.

AJ Lee also made her return to WWE recently, but many fans saw that coming after Becky Lynch screwed Lee’s husband CM Punk out of the World Heavyweight Championship. Lee’s first match in over ten years will take place at Wrestlepalooza as she teams with Punk to take on Lynch and Seth Rollins.
