Triple H Confirms Absent WWE Talent Close To Return

Triple H has addressed the future of a popular WWE talent, who is set to make a return to television very soon.

The countdown is on for the Netflix Era of WWE because, on January 6th, 2025, the first episode of Raw takes place from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. It will be WWE’s first time doing television from the new home of the NBA’s LA Clippers.

Since September 2024, the Raw announce team has been Joe Tessitore and former WWE wrestler Wade Barrett. While the experienced ESPN announcer Tessitore has fit in well within WWE, the duo won’t be calling Raw when it’s on Netflix in 2025.

It has been reported previously that Michael Cole and Pat McAfee will be the Raw commentary team in January 2025 just as they were paired together on Raw before the fall.

While speaking at a WWE-Netflix event in Los Angeles, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque confirmed McAfee would return to WWE starting on January 6th.

“Letting the cat out of the bag a little bit right now. Pat’s actually about to come back with us here, full-time on Monday Night RAW.”

The reason McAfee has been away from WWE for the fall is that he is a part of the popular ESPN College GameDay show on Saturday mornings. That job sees Pat travel on Fridays to a city around the US to host the show the next day. While he likely could work Raw also, it is a busy schedule along with hosting his Pat McAfee Show on ESPN/YouTube every weekday as well.

Triple H Wants Families To Know WWE Is A Safe Place

There has been speculation that the Netflix era of WWE could lead to an edgier product since many Netflix users know there are no limits on what they broadcast. However, Triple H made it clear that WWE is still going to be family-friendly just like they have been for decades.

“It’s a safe place for families, for kids, for everybody, to be able to view the programming. That will not change.”

Nick Khan, WWE’s President, echoed what Triple H was saying.

“There’s some online chatter about how it’s going to be ‘R’ rated or, for us old folks, ‘X’ rated. That’s definitely not happening. It’s a family-friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming. It’s going to stay that way.”

Regarding the future of the company, Triple H recently talked about the company’s vision with the new WWE ID program that will give independent wrestlers to develop within the WWE system.
