Triple H’s WWE Future In Question Amid Alleged Trouble With TKO
Is Triple H in trouble with TKO?
In an interview with ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike show, Cody Rhodes stated that he, CM Punk, or Seth Rollins would be great fits to take over Triple H’s role as WWE’s head of creative once he steps down.
Rhodes mentioned a growing “competition” for the role, suggesting that top stars are also developing their creative skills and leadership abilities to seek the position.
“I think there’s starting to become a fight for it, and I didn’t see that at first. I thought, well, obviously I’m the best candidate. I don’t know if I’m actually the best candidate. I felt like I had some experience, and I’d be interested in something like that, but also, it’s very clear that CM Punk is really great at helping develop young talent. He probably has a knack for it more than anybody.
Seth Rollins is a little bit more rough around the edges, but would probably be an outstanding boss when it comes down to it. I’d love to throw my name in the hat. I don’t know if I’m ready to do it officially yet, but I like the fact that there’s the three of us, plus there’s tons of other people. Bayley, Roman (Reigns) will always have a say.
You’ve got an older locker room right now, so eventually those positions, see if you can do good because it’s not always booking. The industry is not easy, and Triple H is doing a great job, so thankfully, we have him for quite some time.”
While Rhodes made this comment casually, it has sparked speculation among fans and insiders about potential backstage changes in WWE’s creative leadership.
Dutch Mantell Believes Triple H’s Future In WWE Is In Jeopardy
Veteran Dutch Mantell weighed in on Rhodes’ comments during his Story Time podcast, where he interpreted Rhodes’ public naming of himself and others like CM Punk and Seth Rollins as a sign that there might be internal disagreements and unrest backstage.
The former WWE manager believes this public declaration signals potential instability in Triple H’s position as Chief Content Officer, which he has held since July 2022.
“If they’re all vying for it, that tells me something there because they have some internal, i’m gonna use the word ‘strife,’ I’ve never used that word before, but some internal disagreements that hasn’t made its way out yet. So, if he’s throwing his name out at this point, I think Triple H, he may be in a little bit more trouble than what they’re letting on.” [From 2:58 to 3:30]
