Triple H Reacts To WWE Crowning New Champion

Triple H WWE Titles

Triple H shared what it looked like backstage after Giulia won the WWE Women’s US Title.

There’s a new champion in WWE at Night of Champions. Although the Night of Champions PLE only features two title matches, three title matches took place on SmackDown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Zelina Vega defended the Women’s US Title against Giulia, who is a former NXT Women’s Champion. Giulia only recently joined the SmackDown brand, and she targeted Vega, which led to their title match.

While Vega put up a fight as the champion, Giulia was aggressive with multiple knee strikes to the head and a Northern Lights Bomb, leading to the pinfall win. Giulia celebrated the win as the new WWE Women’s United States Champion, while Vega looked devastated that her title reign ended at just 63 days.

After the match, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, was backstage to congratulate Giulia on her title win. As you can see in the photo below, Triple H did the customary “point” photo with Giulia as well.

She’s taken #SmackDown by storm, and now has the gold to prove it… Congratulations

Triple H Is A Big Reason Why Wrestlers Want To Join WWE

The new Women’s US Champion, Giulia, was a huge free agent signing for WWE in 2024, but she’s not the only one. The legendary team, The Motor City Machine Guns, consisting of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, also chose to sign with WWE in late 2024.

When discussing their decision to join WWE after spending two decades with TNA, Alex Shelley mentioned that The Guns wanted to be players on Triple H’s team, which was a significant reason why they signed with WWE last year.

“We have no idea whose idea it was to bring us in. What I can say though, we talked directly to Paul, Triple H, and he treated us with the utmost respect.

A huge factor in our decision was that we wanted to be players on his team. We wanted to be a part of the WWE machine, specifically with him leading the charge. That to me was something that was always at the front of our minds.”

The Motor City Machine Guns made a wise move by signing with WWE, as they had already been the Tag Team Champions.
