Triple H Welcomes Newcomer To WWE Roster
Triple H has posted his “welcome to WWE” photo with a new member of the SmackDown roster.
It was announced last week that legendary WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia would no longer be a regular ring announcer on the SmackDown brand. Garcia was brought back to WWE in late 2024 after Samantha Irvin’s surprising exit from the company.
With Alicia Taylor on Raw and Mike Rome on NXT, that left an opening on the SmackDown brand.
At the WWE SmackDown event in London, England, new ring announcer Mark Nash made his official WWE debut. His real name is Mark Shunock, but in the WWE world, he’s Mark Nash.
As most WWE fans know, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque likes to post backstage photos with wrestlers and talent occasionally. Those photos usually include Triple H pointing at the person as his way to “put them over” in wrestling terms, which is what Levesque did on social media with Nash.
. @MarkShunock crushed it in his first night as the in-ring announcer for #SmackDown. Congratulations and welcome to the team.

Nash previously worked for Top Rank Boxing and is the current in-arena host for the NHL franchise, the Las Vegas Golden Knights. This year’s WrestleMania is in Las Vegas, so he’ll be at home during the shows that week.
CM Punk Feels He Is A Lot More Like Triple H Now
There was a time in WWE history when CM Punk and Triple H clashed as two of the top stars in the company. Many people believe that the friction was real, and comments by both men in recent years have confirmed that feeling.
During an appearance on ESPN’s Stephanie’s Places with Stephanie McMahon, CM Punk told her about his past issues with her husband Triple H, and how they are two men on the same page now. Punk spoke about his conversation with Triple H in November 2023 when Punk returned to WWE after nearly a decade away.
“Thanksgiving, I’m on a Zoom with [Triple H], probably having a conversation that we should have had ten years ago. I’m telling him, hey, don’t worry about it, go cut the turkey, go spend time with your family. He’s like, no, we gotta do this.
I think everything came together so fast, I was still unsure of a lot of stuff, and there definitely is that part of a performer’s brain. ‘Are they going to remember me? Are they going to care?’
I think me and your husband [Triple H] are way more similar than maybe even today we want to admit. I felt it was going to be a big deal, and then that wash over me was, oh, this is way bigger of a deal than I thought it was going to be [laughs]. Okay, we got something here.
The fans made this return so huge because it was just one of those things. I was the last guy now, right? ‘Who’s never going to go back? Oh, it’s going to be CM Punk, he’s never going to go back.’ We can do things as great as all these gigantic, iconic sports figures.
To me, me coming back in Chicago and getting that kind of response just proves it. I left a huge part of me in that moment. I’m tethered to it so I can constantly relive it and be there.”
On WWE SmackDown in Chicago, CM Punk found out that he’ll be in the main event of WrestleMania 41 Saturday with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Triple H also confirmed it after the show was over because it is ultimately Triple H’s call as the man running the WWE creative team.
