Triple H Reportedly Wanted “Nothing To Do With CM Punk”

CM Punk Triple H

According to a new report, Triple H was not interested in working with CM Punk earlier this year but apparently, that stance has “softened” recently.

The animosity between Triple H and CM Punk goes back to the days when Punk was part of WWE. As well as ripping into each other on television as part of a feud, Punk has gone on record with his ill feelings towards the man he once referred to as Vince McMahon’s “doofus son-in-law” during a somewhat well-known promo live on WWE Raw.

However, time is said to be a great healer, and with Triple H now in charge in WWE and CM Punk’s AEW career looking doubtful at best, perhaps a rekindling of their relationship could be best for business.

According to WrestleVotes, as of July Triple H wanted nothing to do with CM Punk and even less to do with the man behind the on-screen character, however, feelings might have thawed since then:

“I was told, I mean, pretty straightforward, that Triple H wants nothing to do with CM Punk, and even less to do with Phil Brooks. Well, that’s what I was told and that was July. I did ask over the last couple of days, and it has softened a little bit from what I understand. I still think there’s animosity, I still think there’s a lot of pieces that need to be picked up between the two of them specifically. But Hunter learned from Vince [McMahon] and Vince made amends with everybody.”

“So to say that doors closed is ridiculous on anybody’s part, especially in this ‘war’ that’s happening right now… I would say never say never. Absolutely.”

Things could be looking more hopeful for The Elite who were also suspended from AEW alongside Punk for their part in the fight with a new report suggesting they could return to the company in some form “imminently.”
