Triple H Makes Bold Vince McMahon Claim After WWE Mention
Triple H has addressed name-checking Vince McMahon during his WWE Hall of Fame speech and thinks it was probably harder not to mention him.
In Las Vegas, Triple H headlined a WWE Hall of Fame class featuring Lex Luger, Michelle McCool, the Natural Disasters, as well as Legacy inductees Dory Funk Sr, Kamala, and Ivan Koloff. The first-ever Immortal Moment was also inducted as WWE celebrated the WrestleMania 13 classic between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart.
An emotional Shawn Michaels inducted his best friend as the headline act in the WWE Hall of Fame. Michaels’ speech made fun of working for “Paul” who he described lovingly as a “pain in the ass.” Triple H paid tribute to many people who helped him during his career, including Terry Taylor, The Kliq, and Evolution. Perhaps most noteworthy was the fact that he thanked Vince McMahon by name in his 67-minute speech. McMahon has largely been ignored by the company due to being the subject of a lawsuit accusing him of serious sexual abuse.
But Triple H has tried to play down the namecheck.
Triple H Bullish On Vince McMahon Mention
After Triple H was bizarrely thanked at the post-WrestleMania press conference for thanking Vince McMahon during his Hall of Fame speech, he noted that nobody would be there without McMahon:
None of us would be here. None of us, right? Pretty hard not to mention him.
