A viral clip on social media led to a famous singer working with Triple H and WWE.

The use of celebrities in WWE is something that has existed for decades and likely will continue for many more years to come. The idea behind this is to raise interest in WWE by having people outside of the company get involved, which could then lead to different fanbases checking out the WWE product.

In today’s era of WWE led by Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, there are a lot of celebrities all over the product whether it’s in matches, on commentary, sitting ringside, or doing other roles.

The multi-time Grammy Award-winning singer Bad Bunny is a great example of a celebrity fitting into WWE perfectly. The talented musician has competed in three WWE matches so far with the most memorable one coming at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico when Bad Bunny beat Damian Priest in an outstanding match in Bunny’s home country.

Social media played a big part in WWE working with Bad Bunny due to a clip of Bad Bunny doing the classic Triple H water spit while at an NBA game featuring the Miami Heat.

Triple H was a guest on The Roommates Show with NBA stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart of the New York Knicks and he spoke about being impressed by Bad Bunny’s water spit moment.

“That’s one of the first times I realized how big of a WWE star….I obviously knew who he was and his music. I saw that clip and was like, ‘He’s a big WWE fan.’ That’s what started us talking to him.”

Triple H Believes WWE Is Better Than Ever Right Now

That water spit that Bad Bunny was something that Triple H did many times as a wrestler during his incredible run in WWE from 1996 until he retired over 20 years later. As a guy who was a top heel in the Attitude Era and a big part of the company for many years later, the man known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley did it all in the ring.

While the Attitude Era is oftentimes remembered fondly by the people who watched it, Triple H thinks that WWE today is better than ever.

“We’re sort of in this resurgence of WWE. I was obviously a huge part of the Attitude Era, but right now it’s bigger than it’s ever been.

I think it’s bigger than the Attitude Era was even then. It’s amazing the amount of people on a weekly basis that we get to do cool stuff with.”

The next big event for WWE and Triple H will be the first episode of Raw in the Netflix Era on January 6th in Los Angeles.
