WWE Crew Were Legitimately Horrified By Infamous Triple H Storyline

Triple H WWE

A former WWE employee recalls how people in the company reacted to a Triple H storyline that is remembered for how bad it was.

Katie Vick. Any time a WWE fan hears that name, they reflect back on one of the worst storylines in the history of the company.

When this story took place in October 2002, current WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque was the World Heavyweight Champion on Raw, while Kane was a top babyface on Raw. On Raw, Triple H mentioned the name Katie Vick and made the claim that Kane killed her in a car accident. Kane explained that Katie had too much to drink, there was an animal on the road, he had to swerve, and Katie died, but it was an accident.

This led to Triple H accusing Kane of having sex with Katie while she was alive, or maybe even when she was dead. This led to Triple H being featured in a video dressed as Kane and simulating as if he was having sex with Vick, even though it was a mannequin. That scene took place in an actual casket in a funeral home.

WWE Personnel Were Horrified By Triple H’s Infamous Funeral Home Scene

During a recent episode of The Coach & Bro show, former WWE on-screen talent Jonathan Coachman talked about the infamous Katie Vick storyline and how people in WWE were horrified by it.

“I was there for the Katie Vick storyline, and for people who don’t know what it is, go back and look it up. That was a Triple H production (laughs). When the crew came back that day…Vince, they shot it at a real funeral home.

And when they came back, the look on their faces – I will never forget it. I will never forget it. They were horrified. And the only thing they had to hang their hat on was that they were behind the camera, and not in front of it. That might be the worst storyline that Vince ever came up with.”

All of this led to Triple H beating Kane at No Mercy 2002, and the feud was done after that. The name Katie Vick was hardly mentioned on WWE TV ever again.

As a talent, WWE Hall of Famer Triple H was just doing his job as directed by his boss, Vince McMahon, but many people cringe whenever they hear the name “Katie Vick” because it really was one of the worst storylines in WWE history.
