Triple H Slammed For “Stupid” CM Punk Booking On WWE RAW

CM Punk upset

Triple H was recently slammed for CM Punk’s booking on WWE RAW.

Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on CM Punk at SummerSlam, minutes after The Second City Saint captured the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther.

Veteran wrestling analyst Bill Apter, speaking on a Sportskeeda WrestleBinge’s SummerSlam Review, expressed disappointment with the one-sided nature of the bout. He said Punk was “killed” in the match, arguing that the booking didn’t give Punk enough chances to fight back or create momentum.

“What I didn’t like was that CM Punk was killed during the whole match. The fans loved CM Punk; he let Gunther pretty much run the match. And I wanted to see more of a, you know, CM Punk’s a fine wrestler. So is Gunther. And I wanted to see more of a pro-wrestling match, not so one-sided. I didn’t want to see it so one-sided.” [From 52:20 onwards]

Vince Russo Says WWE Made Major Mistake With CM Punk On RAW

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo also criticized Triple H and his creative team on Legion of RAW for their booking of CM Punk on RAW last night.

The wrestling veteran claimed it was “stupid” for WWE to kayfabe Punk’s presence in the building the whole night before he showed up during the main event to attack Seth Rollins.

You’re kayfabing the whole night that Punk’s in the building. Like you know, how many people went to bed, bro? They know Rollins ain’t gonna lose the title, you know. They know that’s not happening. Do you know how stupid that is? You don’t even have freaking Punk driving a pickup truck into the back before you go to commercial break. Do you know how stupid that is, bro?

The Second City Saint’s attack on The Visionary backfired as he was destroyed by the newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion and his faction members, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
