Triple H Says WWE Is Its Own Competition
Triple H believes WWE is only in competition with itself.
Since the launch of AEW in 2019, much has been made about the competition between the promotion and WWE. The Tony Khan-led company is the closest thing to direct competition that WWE has faced since WCW in the 1990s — something not lost on fans around the world.
While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H was asked by Michael Cole about the differences between modern WWE and the Attitude Era. Without mentioning WCW by name, WWE’s Chief Content Officer said back then someone was “kicking their ass,” whereas today the company is only competing against itself.
“We were building up against something. Right now, we’re up against ourselves. We’re up against the Attitude Era, we’re up against the Ruthless Aggression era, whatever you want to call it. The best of the absolute best of WWE…that’s what we’re working against,”
The Game added that it’s now on him to make sure no one gets complacent.
Triple H Confirms Plans For WWE Draft
During a separate interview, Triple H casually revealed that the 2024 WWE Draft is just around the corner. While appearing on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast the WWE Hall of Famer said the next Draft will be coming in a “month or so.”
The 2023 Draft took place between April 28th and May 1st.
