Triple H Allegedly Returning To WWE TV In New Role

The WWE Universe may soon see Triple H return to TV in a new role.

During the Saturday Night’s Main Event post-show, Triple H made a defensive post-show speech after fans booed John Cena’s submission loss to Gunther on December 13, 2025.

HHH shrugged off boos by claiming Cena’s loss followed wrestling’s “time-honored traditions” of veterans doing business by putting over the next star, like passing the torch.

Triple H Might Become The Next Mr. McMahon in WWE

On a new podcast episode of The Stevie Richards Show, Richards called Triple H the “next Mr. McMahon on TV.”

He claimed that the WWE CCO might return to TV as the classic evil authority figure who spouts corporate excuses when crowds turn on him, just like Vince McMahon in the Attitude Era.

Richards pointed out it’s a direct rip from Vince McMahon’s infamous 1997 “Bret Screwed Bret” interview after the Montreal Screwjob, where Vince justified screwing Bret Hart by blaming him for “not doing business.”

Triple H is going to be the next Mr. McMahon on TV… The time-honored tradition. He pulled out the Brett screwed Brett interview line from Vince… He did it in the post-show when they booed him, and they chanted.

There’s a time-honored tradition because everybody’s like, “Well, how do you feel about that? Does that bother you or something?” And he went into the time-honored tradition speech. (From 0:59)

Richards also discussed why John Cena losing his last match at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event made sense from a business point of view.

He said that Cena wanted the fans to talk about him weeks and months after he was gone, and a fairytale ending wouldn’t have cut it.

Therefore, he decided to go with the tap-out finish, and his idea clearly paid off because the wrestling world has been buzzing about his retirement match since last Saturday.
