Triple H To Be Replaced in Alleged Master Plan From The Rock

The Rock Triple H

Since The Rock joined TKO’s board, speculation has grown that he aims to take over WWE’s creative control, currently held by Triple H. The two legends have a history of tension, but the situation escalated earlier this year around WrestleMania.

During WrestleMania season, John Cena’s heel turn was a central storyline that The Rock was noticeably absent from, despite being integral to it. Fans criticized The Final Boss heavily for skipping the event. He defended his absence by saying he wanted Cena to get the spotlight and didn’t fully support the angle, revealing he preferred a different direction.

However, WWE: Unreal later uncovered that The Rock was fully on board with the storyline through the Elimination Chamber event, contradicting his earlier claims. This revelation painted The Great One as dishonest, leading to widespread criticism and fueling theories that he might be playing political games to undermine Triple H’s authority.

The Rock Wants To Take Over WWE Creative, Says Jonathan Coachman

Ex-WWE talent Jonathan Coachman fueled the speculation even further on a recent episode of Behind The Turnbuckle Studios. He pointed out that Brian Gerwitz, The Rock’s longtime writer, plays a key role in this situation, suggesting The People’s Champion is positioning himself to eventually take full control of WWE’s creative direction if and when he steps back from his movie career.

“I really think there’s a bigger issue going on. A power struggle between Triple H and The Rock and The Rock’s team. Cuz you notice who else you saw in Unreal. Brian Gerwitz. Yes. He was in there a couple of times. And for people who don’t know, Brian used to be the lead writer for Monday Night Raw. He morphed into the only writer that was allowed to write for The Rock.”

“My very first appearance, January 8, 2000, was with The Rock in Chicago. Brian wrote that entire thing and everything that me and The Rock did after that. I sublet my first apartment in Stamford, Connecticut, from Brian Gerards, who was the lead writer of Raw. I know him very well.”

“And I think deep down that Rock and his team and his company, as much as he likes making the movies, Tommy, I believe in my gut that he wants to take over the WWE creatively, he wants to be the boss.”

“I think he wants to run the whole shebang, and that this is a long play of being able to do that when he doesn’t want to go off for four months and make movies anymore. This would be a nice spot to be in for The Rock to sit in that chair and have Brian be the head of creative.” (16:03 – 17:19)
