Triple H Refused To Reunite Ex-WWE Champion With Tag Team Partner

Triple H WWE

A former WWE superstar revealed that Triple H shot down a tag team reunion after a return from injury.

Sonya Deville worked for WWE for a decade before she was released in February 2025. During her run in WWE, she was a singles wrestler for some of her career, but she was also a Women’s Tag Team Champion.

The unique team of Deville and Chelsea Green won the Women’s Tag Team Titles in July 2023. They only held them for one month because Deville tore her ACL in her knee and missed about a year of action. Green was put with Piper Niven as the Women’s Tag Team Champions, and that duo has been together for two years since then.

Upon her return to the ring, Deville wanted to reunite with Green as a team, but WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, saw things differently, according to Deville in an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

“They just didn’t want to go back to it. They didn’t want to go back to it. I had pitched that it would be a natural angle to go after Piper and be like, What the hell? Bitch, that’s my f**king championship! Very natural angle. But they had this idea for this faction, and so that was where we were gonna go.”

The faction that Triple H and WWE’s creative team came up with was called Pure Fusion Collective with Deville, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark. Deville thinks the group name was terrible, and a lot of WWE fans likely agree with that.

Triple H Leads The Way For WWE’s Tribute To Hulk Hogan

The WWE boss man Triple H was front and center on WWE SmackDown in Cleveland as the company paid tribute to Hulk Hogan. Hunter addressed the crowd in Cleveland, talking about Hogan’s legacy and calling for a ten-bell salute.

When a video package aired about Hulk Hogan’s impact in WWE, Triple H narrated the video, which was very complimentary of Hogan’s legacy in pro wrestling.

Triple H also posted a touching tribute to Hogan on social media, which included photos of the two men together.
