Triple H In Physical Confrontation With Top WWE Star
Triple H lost his cool at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On December 14th WWE brought back Saturday Night’s Main Event for the first time in more than 15 years. The show sported a retro look reminiscent of its 1980s heyday, with Jesse Ventura also on hand to add a link between that illustrious past and the present day.
In the special’s headline bout, Cody Rhodes put the Undisputed WWE Title on the line against Kevin Owens.
The match ended in controversy that began when Owens pushed Rhodes into the referee knocking them down. KO then hit a Stunner, which led to a second referee running in, but the champion kicked out. Rhodes began to fight back but accidentally hit the second referee, leaving them also on the canvas.
Owens grabbed a chair and returned to the ring but Rhodes dodged a wild swing before connecting with a Cody Cutter. Rhodes then hit a Cross Rhodes on the chair before throwing it from the ring and pinning Owens to retain the title.
Triple H Involved In Post-Match Chaos
After the show went off the air an irate Kevin Owens attacked Rhodes from behind. With the champion reeling, Owens hit him with a devastating Package Piledriver causing him to leave the arena on a stretcher.
The attack was something of a call back to Owens taking Randy Orton out with a Piledriver on SmackDown back in November. Orton hasn’t been seen on WWE television since.

Incredibly there was more drama to come as Owens made his way backstage. Just before he reached the curtain, Triple H charged from the gorilla position and began shoving him. Things got incredibly heated between the pair before they eventually went their separate ways.
To add insult to injury for Rhodes, Owens left with the Winged Eagle World Championship belt he’d brought back for one night only.
