Triple H Not Hated By WWE Hall Of Famer

Triple H WWE

A wrestling legend has admitted that he has no issues with Triple H, despite their on-screen past in WWE.

When Triple H was an active wrestler in WWE, he was known for being one of the greatest heels ever. There were periods in his career when Triple H was a babyface, but most of his main event run happened when he was hated by the fans.

Jim Ross was on commentary during a lot of Triple H’s WWE run and is credited for giving him the “Cerebral Assassin” nickname. They also called Hunter “The Game” among other things due to his intelligence about the pro wrestling business.

In that era, there were multiple times on WWE TV when Triple H antagonized Jim Ross and Ross gave it back to him because Ross was a beloved babyface announcer.

While talking about Triple H’s rise as a main eventer in 1999 on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross made it clear that Hunter earned the spot he was put in.

“Triple H just earned the spot. I mean, I don’t know who else you would pick out of our roster that was more ready for the spot that Triple H earned than him, than Triple H. He earned his spot and he was really, really good at it.”

Jim Ross Has No Issues With Triple H

After spending nearly 25 years with WWE as an announcer and an executive behind the scenes, Jim Ross signed with AEW in early 2019 and has been there ever since. While talking about his relationship with Triple H, JR made it clear that as a character he hated The Game, but the two men don’t have issues.

“I went on a vendetta [as a television character] about him and tried to make him a bigger heel than he was. There’s still people to this very day think that I hate Triple H and he hates me and all that stuff.”

“It’s pro wrestling. Our job is to get talent over and to establish their persona, and I thought we did a nice job of establishing Triple H’s persona that followed his lead on how all that stuff worked out.”

A lot has changed since those Cerebral Assasin days since Triple H is now the Chief Content Officer of WWE, who is in charge of the creative team as the company heads toward Crown Jewel and Survivor Series.
