The WWE Hardcore Title was first introduced by Vince McMahon in 1998 as he gave the new belt to Mankind. The championship is best remembered for being defended under 24/7 rules where it could be defended anytime, anyplace. As a result, stars such as Raven, Crash Holly, and Stevie Richards all held the title over 20 times each while WWE Hall of Famers such as JBL, Bubba Ray Dudley, Kane, and Rob Van Dam also held the championship.
