Triple H Comments On Liv Morgan’s Proposed WWE Name

Triple H WWE WrestleMania press conference

Triple H has reacted to Liv Morgan’s recent explanation about how she got her WWE name.

While there are some exceptions on the WWE roster, most superstars use names that the company can trademark. Sometimes the wrestlers have a say in what their WWE name will be, while at other times they don’t have much say, and the names are given to them.

Liv Morgan has been with WWE for over a decade. When she started in NXT in the 2010s, Paul “Triple H” Levesque was running the creative team there, just as he does on the main roster. Over the last three years, Liv has had the best run of her career with Triple H as Chief Content Officer on the main WWE roster.

During her appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, former Women’s Champion Liv Morgan spoke about how she got her WWE name.

I think there’s a little misconception here. So what had happened was, you know, you get to NXT and they’re like, what would you like to be called? And they give you, you get to write a list of names. And so I hand in a list of names, and they’re like, none of these.

And I’m like, okay. So they ask for a second name. I really wanted to not have a proper name.

I didn’t want it to sound like a government name. I wanted it to clearly sound like a character. I really wanted like, Illy Milly.

Which I still stand by, I still stand by that. That’s for a second list, and I give a second list, and they’re like, no.

Illy Milly? Nope. Morgan went on to talk about how she got cheeky with her list by putting Oprah down as a name suggestion. Oprah Winfrey is perhaps the most famous talk show host ever and a billionaire who is one of the most well-known women in the world.

As Morgan continued her story, she mentioned that Triple H likes to joke with her by calling her “Oprah” sometimes.

I give like a third list, and then at the bottom, I’m kind of like just, and at this point, I’m being a little bit cheeky.

I’m like, any of these would do, or I’ll just settle for Oprah. For some reason, the Oprah stuck, and no one ever let me live it down after that. Sometimes I’ll still see Hunter, and he’ll be like, Oprah, and I’m like, my God.

Triple H Reacts To Liv Morgan’s “Oprah” Nickname

While reacting to the Liv/Stephanie clip on social media, Triple H had a clever remark about the Oprah name.

Don’t know if we could’ve cleared Oprah through legal…

As for her future, Triple H and WWE’s creative team have big plans for Liv Morgan, which could see The Judgment Day member in a huge championship match at WrestleMania 42, and beyond.
