Triple H Admits Legitimately Injuring WWE Legend

Triple H sledgehammer

Triple H has admitted that he once injured a WWE Hall of Famer despite making a major change to his weapon of choice.

Triple H is synonymous with the sledgehammer, using the weapon time and again to his advantage against a who’s who of WWE opponents over the years.

Perhaps then, it’s a surprise that with such a dangerous weapon at play, Triple H only recalls injuring one WWE star with it, and that was when he wasn’t even using a real sledgehammer.

Triple H Busts The Undertaker Open With Fake Sledgehammer

Speaking to Complex, Triple H recalled his WrestleMania 17 encounter with The Undertaker and how a fake sledgehammer still left The Undertaker wearing the proverbial crimson mask:

Over the years, I’ve used various ones. I did not like using—every now and then they’d have a prop one or something [rigged up]. Ironically, the only time I ever injured anyone with the hammer was with Taker. We were going to, I believe it was WrestleMania, he was going to put me up for the Last Ride. I was going to grab the hammer on the way up, but we were so afraid about could I get all the way up there and still use it [because of the weight.]

So we used a gimmicked sledgehammer that had a foam head because it was much lighter. I went up top and hit him in the head with it. I held onto the foam part to protect him. The handle went all the way through the foam part and cut him [motions across most of his forehead]. When I hit him, I had no idea. He went down and when he came up, he’s bleeding, I’m like, ‘Holy sh*t, what happened?’ He was just covered in blood.
