What Triple H Told John Cena After WWE Survivor Series Loss
John Cena lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE Survivor Series.
Cena’s last Premium Live Event match went down at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29, 2025, at Petco Park in San Diego.
The 17-time champ defended his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio. Cena had snagged the belt from Dom just weeks earlier on Raw.
The bout started hot, and Dom played dirty as always. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh came out to help their Judgment Day buddy, but had to eat up a double AA from The Last Real Champion.
The real twist dropped when Liv Morgan made her shock return after months sidelined by shoulder surgery. Liv rolled up, looking ready to turn on Dom and even slapped him, which turned out to be a total fake-out.
She hugged Cena all sweet, then low-blowed him. Dom hit his Frog Splash for the 1-2-3 and left with his girl and the gold.
John Cena’s Survivor Series Match was “An Honor To Watch,” Says Triple H
After the title loss, Cena went backstage, where Triple H was waiting for him.
During the Survivor Series post-show, Hunter revealed that when Cena walked into the gorilla position after his match, he told the WWE legend what an honor he felt to watch him wrestle.
“Let’s first talk about the Intercontinental Championship match. And let’s talk about John Cena. I said it when he walked back in the Gorilla Position when the night was over. It was an honor to watch that. It really was. John is just knocking it out of the park, and now we’re down to one. There is just one left.”
Now Cena’s got one last match on December 13, at Saturday Night’s Main Event at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. His final opponent will be the winner of the Last Time Is Now tournament. Gunther is the fan favorite to win the contest.
