Triple H Ignores Horrifying Vince McMahon Allegations
Triple H has offered an evasive reaction to the recent allegations surrounding his Father-In-Law, Vince McMahon.
Former TKO Executive Chairman McMahon faces a serious legal battle following harrowing allegations in a lawsuit brought by ex-WWE employee Janel Grant that include sex trafficking and sexual assault. The lawsuit also implicates former WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.
McMahon resigned from his position at TKO on 26th January but remained defiant in a statement released shortly after, vowing to clear his name from what he describes as ‘baseless accusations’.
‘The Game’ was quizzed about the situation on multiple occasions during the Royal Rumble Post-Show Press Conference, but predictably chose to distance himself from the questions and attempted to turn the focus towards the show itself.
When asked by Fightful’s John Alba about the degree of previously knowledge WWE Executives had about the allegations, the 54 year-old swiftly attempted to deflect focus onto more positive company matters:
“I’m going to do exactly what you would expect me to do here.
We just had an amazing week. Ten-year, $5 billion Netflix deal. The Rock joining our board. Just sold out the Royal Rumble and put 48,000 people in Tropicana Field.
I choose to focus on the positive. Yes, there is a negative. I want to focus on that and keep it to that.”
Triple H Claims He Has Not Read McMahon Lawsuit
Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston would then press WWE’s Chief Content Officer on if he had read the lawsuit, with the 14-time World Champion suggesting he had not before again turning focus away from the subject:
“I did not. I did not. Cody mentioned it, we all found out real time when you were. That’s the truth. I’ll go back to what I said before. It’s an amazing week for us.
I don’t even want to get bogged down in the negatives of it. I just want to focus on the positives and where we’re going. We’re at the most exciting time of the year for us and the most exciting point, to me, business-wise, that we’ve ever had.”
‘The Cerebral Assassin’ gave a much firmer response, however, when asked by Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer what the company was doing to make employees feel safe and not taken advantage of by those in power:
“I’ll give you the most generalized answer I can. Everything possible. That is a very important thing to us, a very important topic to us. It’s as simple as everything possible.”
