Roman Reigns lost the Triple Threat Match against Seth Rollins and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41.

However, the defeat wasn’t what defined the match, but Paul Heyman’s betrayal of both Reigns and Punk is what made the match impactful.

Ahead of WrestleMania 41, significant discussions were done to understand the best way to finish the match so that it doesn’t hurt either of the characters.

Triple H had one concern about Roman Reigns

Netflix recently released WWE: Unreal, which allowed the fans to see what goes on before a show or event comes to life.

In one of the episodes, Triple H and the creative team’s discussions for WrestleMania 41 were showcased. While the logical idea of CM Punk winning despite Heyman turning on him during the match was expressed by The Game, another writer disagreed about the impact of it.

The new idea was to break up Reigns and Heyman’s pair, which is even The Cerebral Assassin expressed his concern.

“I feel like in that scenario, Roman is dead in the water.”

“As far as?”, asked Ed Koskey.

“His character”, responded Triple H.

“Without Heyman?”, clarified Ed Koskey.

“He’s not a babyface. He’s not a heel. He doesn’t have any of the sh*t around him that made him successful, and he got beat by CM Punk.”, revealed Triple H.

Currently, Roman Reigns is an extremely popular babyface and will face Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam 2025 alongside Jey Uso.
