Triple H Allegedly Exposed The Rock as a Liar on WWE: Unreal, Veterans Claim

The Rock WWE

WrestleMania 41 came with plenty of buzz and controversy, especially around Triple H’s creative moves and the mysterious absence of The Rock.

Fans expected The Rock to make a memorable appearance amid the John Cena and Cody Rhodes storyline, but he surprisingly stayed away. Initially, The Rock justified his absence on the Pat McAfee Show, saying he stepped back to let Cena shine in the WrestleMania spotlight.

However, WWE’s new Netflix documentary series, Unreal, released July 29, casts a very different light on the saga. In the series, Triple H reveals that Cena’s heel turn was a well-guarded secret, known only to five key players: Travis Scott, The Final Boss, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and Triple H himself.

They coordinated through a private text thread, collaboratively shaping the storyline. This directly contradicts The Great One’s earlier claim that he wasn’t part of the creative process and was just there to sell tickets.

Triple H’s Revelations in Unreal Lead to Critics Questioning The Rock’s Intentions

During the July 28 episode of the Behind the Turnbuckle Studios podcast, Jonathan Coachman and Tom Carlucci called out The Rock for lying about his involvement in Cena’s heel turn storyline. They highlighted that Triple H’s revelations of WWE: Unreal clearly depict The Brahma Bull as a liar in front of millions of fans.

Host Jonathan Coachman commented, “They’re actually saying that Rock had some ideas, and he weighed in and he was a part of it. So Tommy, if they’re saying that, did they just forget what The Rock said on Pat McAfee, or are they trying to call The Rock a liar?”

Tom Carlucci responded, “It’s very interesting that you bring that up, coach, because it does make it look like he’s a bit of a liar, doesn’t it? Like, completely five people on the thread, right? Then they go through this, and then you don’t see Rock anymore, and it makes him look like a big buffoon in my eyes unless he shows up on Sunday” (12:22 – 13:30)
