Triple H Delighted WWE Fans Can “Netflix And Chill”

Triple H WWE Raw press conference

Triple H is determined to keep growing WWE’s popularity with young fans.

On January 6th, WWE Raw premiered on Netflix, formally kicking off the monster new deal between the streaming platform and the sports entertainment giant. The staggering agreement unveiled in January 2024 is worth $500 million per year for the next ten years, with the option to extend for a further decade.

The blockbuster agreement has coincided with WWE enjoying one of the biggest popularity booms in wrestling history, something not lost on the company’s veterans.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Paul Heyman and Triple H discussed WWE’s record-breaking run and how its stars have taken the company to new heights.

While looking at WWE’s popularity, Heyman suggested that things changed dramatically following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Before COVID, it was a boutique industry, it was niche, it was a guilty pleasure, and then it became a multibillion-dollar guilty pleasure and a multibillion-dollar boutique industry, and now, with the distribution on Netflix, it’s no longer boutique, now it’s certified Main Street.”

In response, Triple H offered a slightly different explanation.

“There’s no saying among kids, ‘ABC and chill.’ ‘Netflix and chill’ is a thing. It’s because that’s where they are, and it’s great for us to be in that environment with these young folks and continue to grow the business in that direction.”

Triple H Sent Star To Work With Paul Heyman

During the same interview, Triple H revealed that he made sure Bron Breakker is working closely with Paul Heyman.

Breakker has been widely tipped to go to the very top of the industry from the moment he first stepped in a wrestling ring back in 2021. The star is currently enjoying his second run with the Intercontinental Championship, having already won the NXT Championship twice and the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Baron Corbin.

Aside from his eye-catching appearances on Raw, according to The Game, Breakker is working extensively with Heyman on his character and promos.
