Triple H Breaks Silence On CM Punk’s World Title Win
CM Punk is the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins had to relinquish his title after suffering a nasty shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2025. He legit tore up his shoulder in a wild coast-to-coast dive and had to have surgery, which meant he couldn’t wrestle for at least six months.
WWE bosses had no choice but to pull him off TV and strip him off the title to keep things moving. Adam Pearce made it official live on Monday Night Raw on October 20, 2025.
With Rollins out of the picture, WWE needed new contenders for the title. Punk had already claimed the number 1 spot a week before Pearce’s announcement by defeating Jey Uso and LA Knight in a triple threat match. Jey Uso became the other number 1 contender after he won the battle royal, which also saw him betray his twin brother, Jimmy Uso, in the process.
On Saturday, November 1, at Saturday Night’s Main Event in the Delta Centre in Salt Lake City, Utah, both number 1 contenders faced each other for the vacant championship in the main event. The match started a bit slow, but by the end, the people in the crowd were on their feet, biting their nails as Jey Uso and CM Punk gave it all they had to offer. Ultimately, CM Punk nailed his victory and won the match to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
