Triple H Hints At More Changes To WWE Premium Live Events
Triple H has confirmed that WWE events will continue to grow.
Starting in 2020, WrestleMania moved to being two nights instead of one. While at the time, the move was more of a necessity than a planned switch, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company’s showpiece event has continued to be held on two nights ever since.
Fast forward to 2025, and SummerSlam ran across two nights for the first time, with Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk headlining night one, and Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena headlining night two.
This has only added to speculation that more WWE PLEs could be split across two nights in the future.
Triple H Confirms WWE Expansion Could Continue
During an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter, Triple H discussed WWE’s expansion and refused to rule out the possibility of more events being spread across two nights.
“As far as will more of our larger events go to two nights? I think time will tell,” Levesque said. “It’s really, for us, about super-serving our fans. Just like for ESPN, you guys thrive on super-serving your fan base and the people that watch. So do we. It’s what we want to do.
So when we can turn these into bigger events, make them destination weekends for fans, that’s what we will do. It’s all about our fans — our WWE Universe — and making them happy.”
Triple H was speaking after it was announced that WWE’s new partnership with ESPN would be starting several months earlier than planned.
Back in August, the company announced that in the United States, all PLEs would be moving from Peacock to ESPN in early 2026. The deal is said to be worth a remarkable $1.6 billion across five years.
However, it’s now been confirmed that the agreement will begin on September 20 with the first-ever WWE Wrestlepalooza. The name was most recently used in the year 2000 by ECW.
Crucially, the event will go head-to-head with AEW All Out.
When asked about WWE continuing to counter-program AEW, Tony Khan said he was continuing to make his product the best wrestling product on television.
