Triple H Breaks Silence On Major WWE Title Change

Triple H WWE Titles

Triple H has congratulated a WWE champion on a recent title change.

One of the best WWE TV matches took place on the October 17th edition of SmackDown when Sami Zayn defended the US Title in the open challenge that he had been doing for the past two months.

The man who answered that challenge was the former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, who had been out of action for over a year with a torn ACL in his right knee. While wearing a brace on that right knee, Ilja and Zayn went on to have a classic 20-minute match that ended when Dragunov hit the Torpedo Moscow and H-Bomb forearm for the win.

When a champion wins a title in WWE, the company’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, usually takes a picture with them and points at them. There wasn’t one last week because Triple H wasn’t at the show, but he was there this week.

Posting on X/Twitter, Triple H congratulated Dragunov and posted a photo with him.

Ilja Dragunov also successfully defended the US Title on SmackDown in Tempe when he beat Aleister Black, with an assist from Damian Priest for the distraction.

Kurt Angle Supports Triple H In His WWE Role

In a job like Triple H’s as the head of WWE’s creative, there are a lot of critics who think maybe he shouldn’t be in that job. The crowds are still filling arenas and stadiums, but there are critics who claim the product isn’t as exciting as it was in 2023 and 2024, for example.

Kurt Angle is a WWE Hall of Famer who wrestled Triple H numerous times throughout their careers. During a recent interview, Angle made it clear he backed Triple H as the guy running WWE.

“He’s doing incredibly well, I’m so proud of him, he’s a great leader…

The thing is, him being retired and out of the business, he really looks at it as ‘I need to focus on this business and make it the best it can be’, and he’s done that incredibly well.

I think TKO made the right decision on making him in charge of creative, and I think he’s doing a hell of a job.”
