Triple H Makes Bold Claim About Current WWE Era
Triple H has made an interesting statement about the current state of WWE compared to the beloved Attitude Era.
During his career as a pro wrestler, Paul Levesque gained fame in WWE as Hunter Hearst Helmsley and later had a lot more success as a main event heel using the name Triple H.
In the Attitude Era, Triple H became a World Champion for the first time in 1999. He was known for being the top heel in the company that wasn’t named Vince McMahon, who was the Owner and not a wrestler like Hunter was.
As the Chief Operating Officer of WWE currently, Triple H runs the creative teams for the main roster including Raw, SmackDown and all PLE shows.
Business is booming for WWE in 2024 and heading into 2025 since they are running more stadium shows than ever while bringing those major events all around the world. They have had more sellouts than usual for TV events while also setting gate records everywhere they go.
Triple H was a guest on Jalen Brunson & Josh Hart’s The Roommates podcast where told the two stars of the NBA’s New York Knicks that this current era of WWE is bigger than the Attitude Era.
“We’re sort of in this resurgence of WWE. I was obviously a huge part of the Attitude Era, but right now it’s bigger than it’s ever been.
I think it’s bigger than the Attitude Era was even then. It’s amazing the amount of people on a weekly basis that we get to do cool stuff with.”
Wade Barrett Loves How Triple H’s Storytelling Keeps The WWE Audience Guessing
As a former WWE wrestler and current announcer, Wade Barrett recently praised the way Triple H tells stories as the head of the creative team.
“I love the fact that today, I don’t know who’s going to be in the main event of the next premium live event. I have absolutely no clue what the card is going to look like. I don’t know if Cody Rhodes is going to be anywhere near the card, he might be left off and he’s one of the biggest stars we’ve ever seen. I don’t know if Roman Reigns is going to be there, CM Punk might be back, I have no clue.
That to me is really, really exciting and I think that one of the key factors in the success of Triple H is his ability to keep the audience guessing and not be so formulaic. I love that as a fan of professional wrestling. It keeps me excited and keeps our fans intrigued, and to me, that’s the biggest difference of all of it. This question mark that pretty much every weekly show has.”
It’s a busy weekend for Triple H and the WWE creative team since they have Smackdown in Hartford followed by a taping for next week’s show, which is followed on December 14th with the return of Saturday’s Night Main Event from Long Island.
