CM Punk Triple H WWE

Several superstars such as CM Punk, Triple H, Cody Rhodes, and Kevin Owens, among others, featured in WWE: Unreal.

The show, produced by WWE, NFL Films, Omaha Productions, and Skydance Sports, pulls back the curtain and provides fans with a deeper insight into what goes on behind the scenes.

While the WWE Universe is well aware of kayfabe, WWE: Unreal showcases the ongoing process that brings the show to life, with a tagline – ‘It’s more real than you think’.

CM Punk revealed an interesting story

The Best in the World had left WWE in 2014, and it wasn’t a clean exit. He left with much bitterness in his heart and didn’t return to the company until 2023.

During the show, Punk revealed that while he possibly could have returned earlier, a major reason prompted Triple H to not move forward with it.

Triple H revealed his reasoning for blocking it.

CM Punk: When I left this place in 2014, I was heartbroken. It took maybe ten years for me to heal from a lot of things. We’d had conversations over the years for me to be able to come back here, and just nothing stuck.

Triple H: I felt like how he communicated with others needed to change. One time when he and I met after he had left, this is years later, where there was a conversation about him coming back, I said, ‘Still the same dude. Won’t work.’ The last time that we met and talked with him, I felt like he, honestly, was different. It seemed almost like in the phone call, we both realized, ‘Oh, he’s different. Oh, I’m different. Let’s give it a shot.’

Currently, CM Punk is one of the top superstars on the WWE roster and will face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2025.
