Triple H Blocked Match Between CM Punk And WWE Hall Of Famer

CM Punk Triple H WWE

Triple H blocked a planned match between CM Punk and a WWE Hall of Famer.

Kevin Nash made a surprise appearance at SummerSlam in 2011, attacking CM Punk after he became WWE Champion. Nash later claimed he was acting on the orders of Triple H and ended up demanding a match with Punk.

However, it was The Game who eventually faced Punk at Night of Champions.

During a recent episode of his Kliq This podcast, Nash looked back at his time working with Punk, and Triple H’s impact on modern WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer said Triple H stepped in to face Punk because he got under his skin, commenting “I gotta beat this f*cker.”

“It’s funny now that Vince has taken a backseat to this whole thing, that I see Paul, he owns it now. Like, he has ownership of that company as far as, when they say he’s creative. His demeanor, he is in completely control of that situation. There has never been anybody of his talent in the ring…he was with us and we were all ruthless and we were all very driven for our success.

It’s such a different Paul now. When I was supposed to wrestle Punk, he got under Triple H’s skin so bad. Paul just came up to me and said, ‘I’m going to beat him. You’re not going to wrestle him. I’m beating him.’ Cool. That’s why me and Punk never wrestled. He made the call, ‘I gotta beat this f*cker.’”

CM Punk To Decide Future On WWE Raw

CM Punk is set to choose his WWE brand on the December 11th episode of Raw. Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series and has since appeared on the red brand, SmackDown, and even NXT.

It’s believed that Punk is heading for a storyline with Seth Rollins, with the World Champion taking repeated shots at the former AEW star. Seth Rollins’ most recent barb came at a live event where he called Punk a “bum.”
