Triple H Addresses AJ Lee’s In-Ring Return With 5 Words
Paul “Triple H” Levesque has reacted after AJ Lee’s first match in WWE in over ten years.
Lee returned to much fanfare during the September 5 episode of SmackDown in Chicago to confront Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
On RAW after Clash in Paris, CM Punk addressed Lynch’s interference in the 4-way championship match.
When he called out Rollins to confront him, Lynch, his wife, instead turned up, even slapping the former World Champion several times.
She repeated the act on the subsequent blue brand episode, but this time around, Punk came with backup. Triple H had shared a photo of himself with Lee and Punk backstage, announcing her return to the promotion.
Across the next couple of weeks, a mixed tag team match was finalized between the two couples at Wrestlepalooza PLE.
The match itself was entertaining, lasting almost a half an hour, before the babyfaces secured the win.
Triple H Full Of Praises For AJ Lee
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H reacted to AJ Lee’s performance at Wrestlepalooza, considering she didn’t know how her previously injured neck would hold up.
Taking to X, the 56-year-old wrote, “Back like she never left…”
Anyone who saw the premium live event could resonate with Triple H’s statement, as Lee turned out to be the star of the match, even tapping out Becky Lynch with the Black Widow submission.
While it was a mixed tag team match, the bout briefly featured the wrestlers getting physical with the star of the opposite sex.
At one point, Lynch put the Sharpshooter on Punk, which he reciprocated with, while Lee also put the Black Widow submission on Rollins.
It is likely that CM Punk will continue to feud with Seth Rollins for the title. As for AJ Lee, she might challenge Becky Lynch for the IC title.

Also, during the show, WWE announced its first inductee into the 2026 Hall of Fame class.
