Trick Williams Chooses WWE Survivor Series Dream Team

WWE Trick Williams NXT Champion Promo

The WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams is choosing wrestlers from his brand when thinking about a Survivor Series dream team.

Whenever WWE fans think of November, Survivor Series comes to mind. That’s because every Survivor Series PLE has taken place in November going back to the first event in 1987.

While the “Triple H Era” of WWE has seen the company go with WarGames matches at Survivor Series, the longstanding tradition was elimination tag team matches. Those elimination tag team matches were usually 4-on-4 or 5-on-5 tag team matches that would oftentimes see singles stars and tag teams join up for one night only to compete in those unique tags.

Trick Williams hasn’t been a part of a Survivor Series PLE yet, but the current NXT Champion has a bright future that will likely see him compete at the annual November show in the future.

In an interview with Steve Fall of Ten Count Media, Trick Williams was asked to pick his Survivor Series team and he went with all NXT people, including himself.

“Okay, well, I’mma hold it down for the NXT boys. If we’re talking about the best NXT has to offer right now, we’re gonna talk about myself, talking Tony D’Angelo, talking Oba Femi, talking Young OG [Je’Von Evans], and we talking Andre Chase. Rest in peace Chase U, but we need that coach, that father figure to keep the boys in line.”

The “rest in peace Chase U” line was a reference to the main event of NXT on November 19 when Ridge Holland beat Andre Chase of Chase U in the main event. Trick Williams watched the match from ringside because he was on commentary for the match.

Due to the win by Holland, he will receive a shot at the NXT Championship held by Williams at the NXT Deadline PLE on Saturday, December 7th. The lineup for Deadline looks like this so far.

* NXT Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs. Ridge Holland

* Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match: Wes Lee vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Nathan Frazer vs. two more wrestlers.

* Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match: Sol Ruca vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Zaria vs. two more wrestlers.

You can watch NXT Deadline on Saturday, Dec. 7, streaming live at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
