Trick Williams Misses Out On Major NXT Deadline Match After Loss
Former NXT Champion Trick Williams was scheduled to wrestle in the main event of Gold Rush tonight. During last week’s episode, Williams interrupted the segment between Ricky Saints and Oba Femi.
Oba challenged the NXT Champion to a rematch for the title when Williams interrupted the two. He was throwing his hat in the ring for the match before being taken out by Myles Borne with a steel chair, setting up their main event clash tonight.
Earlier during the show, John Cena announced that the match between Borne and Williams would be a qualifying match for the Iron Survivor Challenge, which takes place next month at Deadline.
Myles Borne to be part of the Iron Survivor Challenge on NXT Deadline
Williams and Borne fought it out with each other for the final spot in the match. The winner of the Iron Survivor Challenge gets a shot at the NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil.
Williams was the heavy favourite during the match and had the entire NXT crowd behind him, and earned a couple of near falls in the match as well. However, Myles Borne put up a huge fight and countered Trick at every opportunity he got.

The match came to an end after Trick banged his knee into the steel steps. He took advantage of Trick’s situation and hit him with a Borne Again on the floor. He followed it up with another Borne Again inside the ring to win the match and advance to NXT Deadline.
