Top WWE Women Reportedly Were Against Evolution 2

WWE Evolution is only days away, but things backstage are not all rosy.

Ever since the all-women’s PLE was announced for a second edition, it has received mixed reactions, particularly from the company’s female stars.

It is being reported that a couple of top wrestlers were not in favor of the idea.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently appeared on The Hump and discussed the internal reaction the announcement received backstage.

As the inaugural edition in 2018 was received well, some wrestlers were excited to get back into the groove. Conversely, a few of them did not reciprocate the same way.

Not all the women wanted an Evolution show. There certainly are some of them, but listen, there are also women high up on the card who felt differently.

He recalled how an unnamed wrestler responded when he asked them to share their thoughts about WWE Evolution.

Before they added the last women’s match to—I can’t remember if it was Saudi or Saturday Night’s Main Event—but one of them said to me, ‘Oh, do you think they’ll have all the men come out and do a curtain call at the end of this all-men’s event, like they had us do?’ And I was like, ‘Damn, okay. WWE Produces A Strong Line-Up For Evolution

Despite the backstage reaction to Evolution, Triple H & Co. have announced a strong line-up for the premium live event.

Tiffany Stratton will defend her SmackDown title against Trish Stratus, whereas Rhea Ripley will challenge Iyo Sky for the RAW title.

The show will also feature a battle royal match, with the winner securing a championship match at WWE Clash in Paris.

Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez will put their tag team championships on the line against Alexa Bliss/Charlotte Flair, The Kabuki Warriors, and Sol Ruca/Zaria.

Jade Cargill will face Ms. Money in the Bank Naomi in a No Holds Barred Match.

Jordynne Grace will challenge Jacey Jane for the NXT Women’s Championship. Becky Lynch will defend her Intercontinental Championship against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
