A major WWE name had to have his knee drained before performing on SmackDown.

The opening match on WWE SmackDown in New Orleans featured Drew McIntyre in action against Jimmy Uso. Most people watching the show likely assumed that McIntyre would win since he’s a top singles star who is in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match. However, the finish saw Jimmy counter a reverse Alabama Slam into a pin with Jimmy sitting on top for the win.

After the match, McIntyre hit a forearm to knock Jimmy down. An angry McIntyre rammed Jimmy’s head into the mat repeatedly. McIntyre told Jimmy that this meant nothing to him and Jimmy meant nothing to him. McIntyre teased kicking Jimmy’s head into the ring post, but WWE Officials and referees went to ringside to stop Drew before he did it.

It appeared as though McIntyre would be leaving, but instead, he ran down to ringside. McIntyre ran the ropes and hit a Claymore Kick to knock Jimmy down. McIntyre was laughing about it.

Drew McIntyre gave fans some behind-the-scenes access on his Instagram story when he shared a video of his knee having fluid drained from it about 45 minutes before SmackDown. The treatment on his knee worked and McIntyre went on to have a good match without any issues.
