Top WWE Star Tips The Rock To Make In-Ring Return

The Rock

Fans might not have seen the last of The Rock.

After a beatdown on Raw before teaming with Roman Reigns to beat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on night one of WrestleMania 40 it appeared as though a match between The Rock and the American Nightmare was all but certain.

That belief was hammered home on the Raw after WrestleMania where the two met in a highly-charged segment in the middle of the ring.

However, with every passing day, it seems less and less likely The Great One will be competing at WrestleMania. 41. It’s been reported that Rhodes will instead face John Cena, while Roman Reigns looks set to face Seth Rollins and CM Punk.

If those reports are correct, that leaves The Rock without a viable opponent should he wrestle at the event.

Seth Rollins Reflects On Honor Of Facing The Rock

Despite this, Rollins doesn’t believe the Hollywood star has wrestled his last match. In a new interview with Maggie & Perloff, the former World Champion said he wouldn’t be surprised to see Rock do a “couple more.”

“You get in there one time, and you might think you can do a full schedule, but I don’t know if it’s as easy as it looks. You get in there, you do one, and you go, ‘Okay, I can do this.’ He’s smart enough to know his days of doing it full-time has come and gone. Do I think he can get in there and do one more or a couple more? Absolutely.

He was in prime condition and ready to go. He was a game opponent. For a guy that hasn’t done it in ten years, that’s really hard. It is like riding a bike, but it’s not one time. You need to get in there and get your reps in to get your mind where it’s at. He was an incredible performer that night. He was able to slip back into it. It was an honor for me to be in the ring with him.

That’s a guy who is a Hall of Famer and a legend in our business. He’s on the Board of Directors now as well, so he’s continued to help that side of the business. It was a fun ride getting in there and to be able to stomp the crap out of The Rock.”

Elsewhere it was noted that people within WWE were angry at The Rock following his appearance at Bad Blood in October, as he’d already told the company he wouldn’t be wrestling at WrestleMania.
