Another Top WWE Star “Really Close” To Retirement After John Cena
WWE is close to losing another top superstar after John Cena.
Although he was inducted into the Hall of Fame two years ago, Rey Mysterio remains active on the WWE roster. While currently on the shelf due to injury, the 50-year-old has been involved in several storylines on Monday Night RAW in recent months.
However, the wrestling legend recently made an unfortunate confession about his wrestling career in an interview with LA PLATICA.
When asked how much longer he sees himself competing inside the squared circle, the Master of the 619 admitted that although he remains motivated, he believes the end is “really close.”
Oh, it’s definitely really close… it’s really close. But at the same time, I’m so motivated. [H/T: Ringside News]
Rey Mysterio Is Expected To Return To WWE In August
The WWE Hall of Famer suffered a torn groin last April, which cost him to miss WrestleMania 41. He also had a busted eardrum.
In his interview with LA PLATICA, Rey Mysterio provided an update on his injury, disclosing that he is expected to return to the ring in August.
I started my [physical therapy]. Not to mention, I had a busted eardrum as well, so I fixed that during my time off. I’m on the road to recovery. I should be back hopefully by August.
The former World Heavyweight Champion recently explained why he cannot turn heel at this stage of his WWE career in an interview with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. Check out his comments here.
