Top WWE Star Not Medically Cleared Despite SummerSlam Plans
A top WWE star will have to wait to get back in the ring.
With SummerSlam just around the corner, the card for the summer spectacular is beginning to take shape.
It’s already been confirmed that Damian Priest will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Gunther, while Bayley will put the Women’s Title on the line against Nia Jax. Gunther and Jax won the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments respectively. Meanwhile, it’s long been rumoured that Drew McIntyre and CM Punk will finally wrestle at the event.
On the July 8th episode of Raw, Rhea Ripley made her return to the red brand after taking time off due to a shoulder injury. In storyline, the injury came at the hands of Liv Morgan, who went on to win the Women’s World Title Ripley had been forced to vacate. With the Aussie star out of action, Morgan also set her sights on Dominik Mysterio, trapping him in a number of comprising positions.
As the soap opera continues, on July 15th, Rhea Ripley challenged Liv Morgan to a match at SummerSlam. A match that was quickly made official.
Rhea Ripley Forced To Wait For WWE Action
However, according to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Rhea Ripley is yet to be cleared for physical action. This means the star won’t be wrestling before SummerSlam, and likely won’t be involved in any physical angles before her match with Morgan.
There had been talk about holding Ripley’s return until SummerSlam or even the Raw two days later, but the star is confident she’ll be “good to go” come August 3rd.
