Top WWE Star Set To Miss SummerSlam In Hometown

One major WWE star is going to miss out on the first two-night SummerSlam in history despite it taking place in their home state.

WWE was recently forced to abandon Liv Morgan’s Raw match against Kairi Sane in a matter of seconds as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion suffered a separated shoulder. Sane was declared the winner of the match, but the injury could have more far-reaching consequences.

The previous week, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella was involved in an altercation with Liv Morgan, which many believed was building to a match at the upcoming Evolution show in July. Reports suggest a former WWE star could be set for a huge return to be part of that match.

However, Liv Morgan will require surgery, meaning that any upcoming plans won’t include her. And it seems it won’t just be Evolution that Morgan will be missing out on.

WWE SummerSlam Too Soon For Liv Morgan

Speaking on his Q&A, WrestleVotes was asked about the possibility of Morgan being part of SummerSlam in MetLife Stadium, but says it’s just not going to happen as she won’t be recovered by then:

The timeline remains what we heard two weeks ago, that it was gonna be six to nine months. That was two weeks ago. SummerSlam is four weeks away, that would put it at a month and a half instead of six months, which is crazy. Sure, I’d love to see it, it’s in her hometown. I think the pop would be incredible, but I just think science and the way the body works say otherwise.

The only thing known for SummerSlam so far is that King of the Ring Cody Rhodes will challenge for the WWE Championship and Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill will challenge for the WWE Women’s Title.
