Top WWE Star Strongly Believes Match With John Cena Will Happen

John Cena

The upcoming WWE retirement of John Cena has led to one big name saying he wants at least one more match the “best of all time.”

Ever since John Cena announced that 2025 will be his last year as an active WWE competitor at Money in the Bank in July, a lot of people have commented on wanting to step in the ring with the future WWE Hall of Famer.

It’s easy to understand why a WWE superstar would want to face Cena during his retirement tour because there will be a lot of eyeballs on what Cena does and if you are a part of a match with him, it’s history in the making ever. There will be a lot of celebrations as well as curiosity to see how well Cena does in those final matches.

Drew McIntyre has been a part of WWE for most of the last 16 years minus the time when he was released for a few years before making his comeback. Since McIntyre has been a main event guy in WWE going back to 2020, Cena has been a part-timer, so the two men haven’t had a high-profile singles match.

While speaking to The Ringer Wrestling Show recently, Drew McIntyre made it clear that he would like to face John Cena in the WWE ring.

“Cena is coming back for his year long return which is going to be awesome. I don’t know if I’m figured in the plans, but I guarantee I’ll be pushing and I’ll be nudging them left and right to make it happen because the amount of stories I’ve got about Punk and things that happened when I was younger, I’ve got 10 fold on him.”

“There’s never been a one on one match. If I have to drive management crazy, I’ll drive them crazy, drive John crazy. I’m going to get that match and I’ll tear them apart on the microphone, which not many people can do in the ring, and send him packing in a happy retirement and hopefully Punk along with him.”

John Cena Confirms He Will Appear On WWE Raw When It Debuts On Netflix

The highly anticipated debut episode of WWE Monday Night Raw on Netflix is set to take place on January 6th, 2025. Recently, John Cena confirmed he’ll be at that show.

“I can tell you I’ll be there for the debut. I think it’s 1/6. I’m not sure, I think so; don’t quote me on that, but it’s a history-making day for WWE. I’m so very proud of WWE. Man, I’m such a fan of the merger. I love the two companies, WWE and Netflix, and it’s an event that I will not miss. I will be there.”

What WWE hasn’t announced yet is where that historic episode of Raw will take place.
