Top WWE Star In Survivor Series Injury Scare
The main event of WWE Survivor Series really was a war for all involved.
At Survivor Series Roman Reigns and CM Punk managed to stay on the same page long enough to lead the OG Bloodline to victory against their Solo Sikoa-led rivals. However, the road to that victory was far from easy.
Reigns and Punk regularly found themselves at odds, with the former even hitting the former AEW star with an accidental Spear. But at the urging of Paul Heyman at ringside they managed to work together just enough to take out Sikoa.
During the match, Jimmy Uso crashed Jacob Fatu through a table from the top of the cage, but not before Fatu botched a Step-up Moonsault leaving him clutching his leg. Earlier in the bout, Bronson Reed also went for a Tsunami from the cage onto Roman Reigns and a table below, but Punk pulled the former World Champion to safety, leaving the giant Aussie to crash and burn.
In the post-show press conference, Jey Uso revealed that Jimmy broke his toe when he jumped from the cage, but it seems Reed came off even worse.
A report from Fightful Select noted that Reed suffered injuries to one and possibly both of his ankles when he made his own leap from the cage. The star was helped to the back following the match.
WWE Star Survives WarGames
In better news for the company, the same report from Fightful noted that Jacob Fatu did emerge from the match unscathed. While Fatu wasn’t originally supposed to sell as heavily as he did, he took the opportunity following the botched move, adding a touch of realism to the situation.
The star spent a period in a protective boot earlier in the year after he drove Cody Rhodes through the announce table at SummerSlam.
Elsewhere at Survivor Series, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated LA Knight to claim the United States Title for the third time.
