A top WWE star attended the most recent NXT taping.

October 8th was another big night for NXT as the show remained on the road and headed to Missouri. WWE’s third brand which is usually based in Florida, had premiered on the CW Network a week earlier with a huge show live in Chicago.

On the show, Stephanie Vaquer made her television debut, joining forces with Giulia to take out Cora Jade and NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.

Elsewhere, Tony D’Angelo got the better of Oba Femi to claim the NXT North American Title ending his record-setting reign at 273 days. The defeat was Oba Femi’s first on NXT television, leaving fans stunned.

Meanwhile, in the main event, Randy Orton picked up with the win over NXT hotshot Je’Von Evans.

According to a new report, Orton wasn’t the only former World Champion with a presence on the show. As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, CM Punk was also in attendance having traveled with NXT talents to the taping where he offered advice and guidance to WWE’s next generation.

CM Punk To Become WWE Executive?

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series, Punk has been a regular presence within NXT appearing on-screen and working in an unofficial capacity backstage.

Speaking in a recent interview, Shawn Michaels suggested CM Punk would be an ideal candidate to one day succeed him if it’s something that interests him. Michaels added that he’d support the star “every step of the way” in whatever he wants to do when he decides to hang up his boots.

Michaels began working as a writer and producer in NXT in late 2018 before stepping into the top job in September 2021.
