A main roster star is closing in on an appearance with TNA.

On July 20, TNA will hold Slammiversary at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, as the company celebrates its 23rd anniversary.

Given the celebrations and the company’s relationship with WWE, rumours have been running wild that AJ Styles could be involved at the event. That was even before Anthem Entertainment boss Carlos Silva cryptically posted that the event was set to be “Phenomenal.”

Styles spent 12 years with the promotion between 2002 and 2014, where he established himself as one of the best wrestlers on the planet.

WWE Star AJ Styles Closing On TNA Appearance

According to a new report via Wrestle Votes Radio, it’s looking increasingly likely that Styles will be featured at the event in some capacity. This also tied in with a report from Jon Alba, noting that several sources were confident that Styles would be involved.

“We asked around about the phenomenal reference in TNA President Carlos Silva’s recent tweet, and one response we got back was, quote, ‘it would make total sense for AJ Styles to appear.’

AJ Styles looks likely at this point.”

The report added that Styles might not be the only main roster WWE star heading to the show.

“Another little nugget that we’re hearing amid the speculation, there’s been talk within WWE that one or two main roster stars could be headed to TNA Slammiversary this Sunday night on Long Island. We have learned that discussions have transpired regarding other talent there as well, Sunday night.”

Meanwhile, it’s been announced by the company that TNA Slammiversary is set to make history, while confirming that all floor seats are now officially sold out.
